AI and student data
The AI plays the market. The instructor judges the students. This split is the core of Pleira, and it is what lets a simulation with AI in it be used to assess people in Europe.
Who does what
AI agents
- Play customers, suppliers and investors
- Bargain, hold back information and push back, as real counterparts do
- Prepare the debrief for the instructor
The instructor
- Scores each student against published criteria
- Sees the action behind every score
- Makes every decision about grades
Never
- The AI does not score students
- Nothing is read from faces or voices
- Student data is not used to train commercial models
How this fits EU rules
AI that evaluates learning outcomes is high-risk under Annex III (point 3, education), and emotion recognition in education is prohibited. In Pleira the AI plays the market and the instructor judges the students.
Students can see their data, and no grade is decided by an algorithm alone. We keep what the scoring needs: moves and messages from the session.
How student data is stored, how long it is kept and who can see it are written into the agreement with each school.
This page explains how Pleira is designed. It is not legal advice; your school's data protection officer should review the pilot agreement.
